Toogood Reports [Monday, April 16, 2001; 12:01 a.m. EST]
Read the entire article here. (http://toogoodreports.com/column/reader/hoff/041601.htm)
In their futile attempts to create a more compassionate and balanced social order, the delusional Feminist movement (NOW), supported by male Socialist Democrats, have unwittingly placed this country in an unnecessary position of vulnerability by emasculating our military forces. And, their conservative counterparts have done nothing to thwart their suicidal tendencies. For the purpose of acquiring political favor, the effeminate Republican Party leadership has betrayed the security of this nation by conspiring with these social malcontents. I pause in amazement at the self-deceiving and dangerous conduct of both ideologies. The reality is that the Feminist manipulation of our slumbering intellects will result in the inevitable destruction (socially and militarily) of the United States.
With a devastating arsenal of feminine weaponry, not limited to whining, sulking, hysteria and obstinate behavior, our pouting goddesses of perceptual distortion have crusaded their way into the natural domains of the male. These emotional, over reactive females have truly manifested a new social pattern. They have produced an unstable culture of hostile Amazonian warriors. These macho mistresses of bitter disposition are outraged because nature has unfairly burdened their gender with childbearing and PMS, leaving men to go joyfully forth unencumbered, while pursuing their selfish male driven desires.

Yeah, if I didn't like women so much I sure wouldn't like 'em much.

I would say that article qualifies as just as much anti-female as anti-feminazi. Bit too over the edge for me. While I don't advocate infantry combat roles for women, I've known many women in the service who have been better at their jobs than Sergei probably would be. Quite a few of them could probably kick his ass too.

Rhino's wife is a kick ass military female and I respect her and her expertise. I don't think even she would agree to women in combat.

Correct. She can't even handle the back yard in bare feet, but don't cross her as a detachment commander. My post was simply a response to Sergei's seeming opinion that women aren't good for much beyond military secretaries.

For what it's worth, the first thing you learn in Army Ranger school is to take care of your feet.

The concept of "women in combat" has already been tried, and found to be a failure.
The Israelis, right after the formation of their country, desperately needed ground troops. They put women "on the ground". However, the Arabs quickly found out that all they needed to do was wound a woman, out in the open, and the male troops would die by the score, trying to rescue her.
The Israelis removed the women from the ground combat role. It cost them too many male lives.

One of my commanding officers at OCS was a woman. She would never have made it into combat herself as she was uhh not exactly at the pinnacle of physical fitness. However, she was very convincing at why women should be in combat.
A brief, half remembered summary
Higher Pain Tolerance - check
Better endurance - check
Less likely to go stupid - check
More likely to be ruthless - check
What I saw from the women who trained along side us through everything (OCS in NZ is a sort of basic infantry platoon commanders school or at least everything that isn't scrubbing drilling or running images/icons/smile.gif )
Some of them were plenty tough enough to match and sometimes better the guys.
We've now got at least one female officer in our "armoured corps" (an undersized regiment of APCs) and when I left there was talk about whether someone I knew would try to be the first kiwi female grunt lt.
Maybe if men grew up with the idea of women in combat, they would be less stupidly gallant under fire?

No, the amazing thing is what some men will do for a shot of leg.

I repeat myself but,
Maybe if boys grew up with the idea of girls getting shot, they would be less stupid.

Quite true, I once posted on this in TH with the refs but I don't have them any more...they were of a Dept of the Army testing that showed that women took an average of 6 months of intensive training to reach the basest of physical equality with their male counterparts. The story also ran in a Stars and Stripes in '98'.
The males involved didn't have anything changed from their regular PT program , (and still went for beer after recall formation), while the Females were on a basic training regime.
The Females had to keep up an extensive program to maintain the same physical qualities as males who only did their hour every morning.
This wasn't a study about any capability other than physical.
