ST. PAUL, Minn. - Three celebrity weeklies — OK!, People and Us Weekly — featured Sarah Palin on their cover, but one of those magazines is reportedly losing subscribers because of it.

Us Weekly, which unlike People and OK!, chose a rather caustic cover line (“Babies, Lies and Scandal”) is said to have lost thousands of subscribers in just the first 24 hours following the printing of the issue.

For some reason I started getting that US weely rag without ever subscribing to it. If they think I am paying for it I got news for them.

Canceling a subscription to the rag is not something I have to concern myself with.

I have been known to look at the cover when I'm waiting in the checkout line at the market. Don't think I've ever picked up a copy and leafed through while waiting, though.

I did notice yesterday that the magazine wasn't in any of the racks at my market. I noticed becaue I wanted to see what the cover looked like after hearing all of the hoopla.

Hmmmm . . . I don't think the magazine was missing becaue it has been sold out in Lubbock, Texas.

What can one expect from an "entertainment" (read: Hollyweird ultraleftist) supermarket mag? This tells us all we need to know about it.

This edition is not available here. I went to the grocery store looking for it. It's not there. Only old editions are on display. I asked for the new mag with Sarah Palin on the cover and was told that it was removed from display at the request of numerous customers.

This is CALIFORNIA, folks. This is DEM territory, considered safe for obamination. Not anymore evidently.

I can understand the magazine not being displayed here --in ULTRA Conservative Lubbock . . . but CALIFORNIA?!?

I never received this one, I don't know if they realized they had been sending it in error or if it's something like what you are saying and they pulled it from distribution but it didn't come this week. I did get the Obama one and it went from the mailbox to the trash just like all the others they have sent. The only time I even opened one is when they had something about Michael Phelps in one issue.

The magazine goes to press Monday night, which means subscribers don’t receive their issues until Friday or Saturday. In other words, the cancellations are coming from subscribers who, in many cases, haven’t even gotten their hands on the actual issue.

It was not pulled from distribution. The store received it. But customer complaints made the store remove it from display. I could have gotten one by request, it is kept under the check out counters.

So stores get it before the subscribers? I had never even heard of this magazine until I started receiving it for no reason. I am not subscribed to any magazine, I figure just about anything I want to read I can find on the internet. Although I do plan to get the food network magazine when it comes out.

Maybe it's some sort of promotional thing to get you to want to subscribe. They failed in their efforts with me.

I just left Walmart. The Osama/Michelle "I've Never Been Proud Of My Country In My Adult Life" Osama are on the cover.

I'm guessing the Let's Slam Sara And See If We Can Sink Her issue is not out yet.

I got that one weeks ago, right after they first started coming, there have been several newer issues since then. Seems like it would make them look even worse to go back to that one. Especially since they are already losing readers for seeming to favor him.

We recieve the new editions depending on print dates, about 5 days before the people who subscribe.. Hell even the sunday paper inserts arrive on Tuesday! I actually did not know this magazine existed.. I do the whole scan the covers crap while waiting in line and never came across it here in Upstate NY!

The one with her on it came today. I wonder if they are sending people who aren't subscribers the issues that don't sell? Is it possible to cancel a magazine you were never subscribed to begin with?
