BAGRAM, Afghanistan (August 31, 2002 4:23 p.m. EDT) - U.S. paratroopers from the fabled 82nd Airborne Division took over coalition operations Saturday at the Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.
The 82nd Airborne, based at Fort Bragg, N.C., is replacing the 10th Mountain Division from Fort Drum, N.Y., which arrived in the region nearly a year ago.
