Just wondering what everyone is doing for Thanksgiving?

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/um.gif I have to stick around here for the first half of the week. I have to attend two days of inservice, since I didn't go last May, but then, I didn't think I'd still be working for this district. After Thanxgiving, the Mrs. has her heart set on going to Juarez.

I'm working up until the day of Thanksgiving and then coming home to cook. But, I will be spending Thanksgiving alone. It's okay because I will get to spend Christmas in S. Florida with my family.

Staying home with my mom and eating the Turkey dinner.

Work-eat-sleep, not necessarily in that order.

We're having my family over for an early afternoon meal.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/serious.gif We might go out on Thanxgiving Eve, then enjoy a quiët day at home. Sometimes, we go to IHOP® for Thanxgiving dinner. At any rate, the Mrs. got tired of cleaning up leftover turkey, & I don't blame her. There's just the three of us.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon115.gif Oh, & don't forget to watch the Texas Longhorns eat the real turkeys on the day after.

We're going to my in-laws; Then over to see my mom. I'm gonna take a little miniature Christmas tree and set it up for her.

I'm gonna make my pumpkin bread to take along and that weird green marshmallow salad stuff! -(AKA Watergate Salad)

Trying to avoid dealing with in-laws again, since my stupid Sister-in-law is being a bitch. God I can't stand her. I'm trying to go to my folks house for the meal.

Uh, that's THANKSGIVING, not Thanxgiving. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue1.gif

Nothing. It's just another day on the calendar. Ditto Christmas. The best part of the "holiday season" is January 2nd.

Sorry to hear that. It's how my brother feels too. It's sad.

Are you alone, is that why? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif

It's just CaliBoy and I, so we will find a place to have a Thanksgiving meal. I don't cook holiday meals for the two of us because it's too much work and too many leftovers.

I am looking forward to 4 days off though. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon16.gif

Cali, I will be alone for Thanksgiving this year for the first time in my life. I'm gonna cook until my fingers fall off. I'm looking forward to it and the leftovers. Leftovers mean I won't have to cook for a coupla days afterwards and I'll freeze alot of stuff.

Doc, you're welcome to come eat with me if you're alone. This Southern girl could use the comapny and we'll eat until we drop. Of course we will give thanks for our bounty as well.

Harv, my heart goes out to you and the cooking. I am sad you will be alone! I have been there and done that in my life. I don't cook because our kitchen is a shoe box, maybe smaller. Guess life never deals us what we want, but in general I can't complain.

Have you tried suing your parents? It works for so many others out there.

As remarked elsewhere, I know that Scott Peterson and Kobe Bryant are definitely going to be giving thanks, thanks for Michael Jackson.

Cali, you don't have to be sad that I will be alone. I like my own company!

Anyday above ground is a good day to me! I'm thankful when my eyes open every morning! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue1.gif

Just curious?

As for me, Thanksgiving... its ok, dont eat much but turkey is always good, Christmas.... well, wish in one hand spit in the other, see whuts more real, thats indicative of Christmas for me, I wish, but.... its one thing getting, I'm more happier giving than getting anymore anywayz. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon16.gif

I couldn't resist. I detest trivial lawsuits, and Doc knows me well enough to know it wasn't personal. Glad to hear the coffee and PC are still doing fine.

Thank you. I chose it today cuz I thought about a picture I saw on a site :

http://www.weltvonmorgen.org/images/kza01.jpg

I actually have seen it before I think but today it annoyed me.. it says:

Confrontation of two eagles
America and Germany...

I like the idea with the flags better. Here we could buy similiar stickers for cars etc. after September 11th. And now? Now you can buy "stupid white man" in the stores and see ads everywhere..

But really, isn't Thanksgiving just about the fowl industry takeover? Its another Bush conspiracy. All those indians and pilgrims, engaged in gluttony, were just a myth. Its all about Dick Cheney and his Pampered Chef stock.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon115.gif Well, our plans got radically changed. I'm at my brother's apartment in Humble waiting for breakfast. Later, it's off to a hospital in Houston to visit my dad who just underwent surgery, & is doing fine.
