Let's thank the Lord for all the wonderful things He gives us and let's ask Him to keep blessing this great country of ours. May you spend a lovely day with friends and family.
Got my in-laws with us and we're having a wonderful time.

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving everyone! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/patriot.gif
A few tidbits I thought of today:
1. Given I don't eat turkey, I decided to try something really different for Thanksgiving dinner. The result: stewing beef curry with potatoes and onions over either noodles or rice. The batch I made came out great. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worshippy.gif
2. I've also found another Thanksgiving tradition: local papers loaded with ads for after-Thanksgiving sales. There's more full-color ads in there than in the Sunday paper! http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0903/sprachlos/speechless-smiley-006.gif It's a good thing I bought all my Christmas presents online (thank you, Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com)!) so I can spend tomorrow morning with a cuppa Joe and laugh at everyone who has to wake up at the wee hours of the morning to go out to sales facing massive crowds and horrid traffic near shopping malls. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue1.gif http://freeconservatives.com/smiley/Smiles_files/hah.gif
Have a nice day, everyone.

You were looking for a Turkey.... Well Here I am...
Hey all my "Free-Con" Friends. I am truly Thankful for all of you here. You give me respite and stir my blood and make me think. To everyone here I wish you all a very wonderful Thanksgiving.
So much for my low carb diet!

Mags, glad to see ya back. I've missed you dear! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif
To everyone: Have a safe and Happy Turkey Day! This is the day we are to be especially thankful for what we have. While giving thanks for all the wonderful things in your lives, please give an extra thanks to our troops who can't be with their families. There's no one like the American soldier. Standing tall no matter the price!
God Bless America!

Ray, I wish I could say I'm going shopping after TG. I'm going to WORK that day! Grrrrrr. And I will have to face the horrid crowd because I have to pass the blooming mall to go to work. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon130.gif
Al, LOL. You're not a turkey. You're a ducky (which in Britain is a term of endearment that means you're a cutie /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon129.gif )
Harv, thank you, dear. I had one of my obligatory colds which forces me to go into hiding as I am not fit for polite company when I'm hacking and sneezing.
Have a good one, guys! We're off to our TG luncheon at a very posh resort. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
(Of course I'm not cooking! Do you really think I'd put my beloved in-laws through that? James is a different story. He's used to it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue1.gif )

Maggie I missed you too and I'm so glad you're back and hopefully well. Ditto what Harv said regarding our troops. They just announced on Fox news that our President is in Iraq visiting our troops today!!! What a treat for them.

What I'm thankful for:
I’m thankful for our family – our sons, our daughters-in-law, and our grandchildren.
I’m thankful that my wife and I enjoy good health and that we are able to enjoy a full life with our 50th Anniversary coming up next year.
I’m thankful that we have President Bush, a great and forceful leader, in our time of trial and tribulation following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
I’m thankful for our great nation, a beacon of freedom for the whole world.
I’m thankful for our troops who are fighting the War on Terror and defending us from further terrorist attacks.
I’m thankful for our long-time friends.
I’m thankful for the new friends I have found here at FC. I am even thankful for the less friendly Freecers because they have forced me to do the further research that served to reinforce what I already knew to be true.

That's a very heartfelt blessing NT. I'm very thankful God gave me the Warlord. I'm very thankful He gave us a great President too. I'm very thankful and grateful for our troops serving overseas and at home to keep us safe. I'm very grateful I was born in America. I really feel we Americans won the lottery. I'm also very thankful and grateful to all the Freecers. And I'm thankful for all the food I'm cooking today!

We thank you, Dear Lord, for the astonishing array of blessings that You have bestowed on this land. You granted us victory when we fought to establish a new nation based on the political principles inspired by Your eternal moral law, whereby all men may be free. You forgave us of our flirtation with slavery, preserved us against the subsequent trails of our sin and made our nation a leader among nations to rid the world of such cruelty. Sustain our nation against the machinations of those embittered souls who will not forgive the past and whose hatred blinds them from recognizing and repenting of the very same foibles that exist in their souls. For the good of this nation and future generations, deliver us from socialism and its inherent racism.
You expanded our borders and secured the bountiful wealth within for generations.
You have raised up this nation with Your mighty hand, enriched it and empowered it to confront and destroy evil for the good of all mankind.
No nation in all of history has been so blessed with wealth, power and liberty. We are truly amazed and grateful.
Once again, oh Lord, even at this time of celebration, we are threatened by evil men. We will not be deterred from celebrating Your name and expressing our gratitude. Yet, we pray that You give us victory over our enemies in Afghanistan and Iraq. Help us to capture and put down those who despise Your goodness, those who would arrogantly commit their vile deeds in Your name--even mindlessly killing women and babies, Dear Lord! Have mercy on all of us. Deliver us. Indeed, forgive and redeem these killers if they will; help us find them and send them to hell if they won't.
But above all things, we thank you Father for the wondrous gift of Your Son and our Lord, Jesus Christ, the sinless One who gave His life for us often silly and unworthy creatures, that we may be free and live forever according to the pleasure of Your eternal love and goodness.
There is no other like You. May your majesty and goodness reign in our hearts. Protect us against our enemies--at home and abroad. Keep us free. Sustain our courage that we may always be a people that firmly stands against tyranny and proclaims Your truths.
In Jesus' name, we pray.

And my family is thankful for all the food that I won't be cooking today! I make a number of mean bean soups, but I'm not allowed to do much else. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! (http://www.jacquielawson.com/viewcard.asp?code=0183913358)
<center>'Twas the night of Thanksgiving,
But I just couldn't sleep
I tried counting backwards,
I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned -
The dark meat and white
But I fought the temptation
With all of my might
Tossing and turning
With anticipation
The thought of a snack
Became Infatuation.
So, I raced to the kitchen,
Flung open the door
And gazed at the fridge,
Full of goodies galore.
Gobbled up turkey
And buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots,
Beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling
So plump and so round,
'Til all of a sudden,
I rose off the ground.
I crashed through the ceiling,
Floating Into the sky
With a mouthful of pudding
And a handful of pie.
But, I managed to yell
As I soared past the trees....
Happy eating to all -
Pass the cranberries, please.
May your stuffing be tasty,
May your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes 'n gravy
Have nary a lump
May your yams be delicious
May your pies take the prize,
May your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off of your thighs.
May your Thanksgiving be blessed!!</center>
