It is that time of the year again. Time to be starting the seedlings for those of you in the more Southern Climes while up North we have at least a month to wait.

As soon as the ground thaws, in go the Spinach, Snow Peas, Shallots, Green Onions, Garlic, & Lettuce (3 varieties, Leaf, Boston, escarole). I don't fool with cauliflower, broccoli & Brussel Sprouts, though I enjoy them. In Feb. & March, I start the tomato seedlings and any other warm wx crop.

What are you going to plant this year? If you are a seed saver, do you have anything interesting to exchange with fellow freecers?

In the tomato line, I have some seed you might be interested in trying:

Pink Tomato: Medium sized and solid.

Plum tomato: 3rd year variant: out of small Italian Paste tomato, these are now a very solid, sized between small and medium, quite tasty.

When we moved to the Ozarks we gave up a great truck garden.
Now I livd on the side of hill surrounded by giant White Oaks. I plan to try some shade loveing plants. Impatients and hosta's are about all I've had luck with.
Tried a rose bush in a barrell with wheels. Just couldn't move it fast enough to find the beams of sun that did get through. ha
Got any thoughts on a flowering vine that might thrive in and around rocks?

I don't know that it flowers, but it certainly thrives, KUDZU! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon16.gif
