The only thing BC cared about national security was.... making damned sure that We The People didn't HAVE any.

Slick Willie, the cowardly, lying, traitorous lecher-in-chief, the comedian who thinks people still look at him as the president (and clowns still do), is responsible for the crippling of the Military, and I'm sure his toadies-in-waiting blame it on some vast right wing conspiracy.

After readin' Wolf's comment, and cogitatin' on it, and ruminatin' over it, and consideratin' all the angles, and even thinkin' some about it, I deduce that the Wolf Counsel don't much like BillyJef.

NORFOLK, Va. (Reuters) - Behind the super-efficient U.S. military power that can see over the horizon and drop a bomb through a mail slot, there is another reality of an ill-maintained behemoth that scrambles to get warships to sea.
The point was illustrated this week when the USS John F. Kennedy, flagship of the most technologically advanced naval battle group in history, steamed off three weeks late toward the Indian Ocean to take part in the war on terrorism.
Its departure had been delayed by a rushed $15-million repair program carried out after the ship's commander was removed in December because "significant discrepancies" had been found in the ship's major systems.
Two catapults that launch aircraft from the deck, elevators that bring planes up to the flight deck and some boilers that power the ship were not working. The lack of proper maintenance followed a decade or so of what Navy chiefs say is severe underfunding.
On a visit to the ship as it underwent tests in the Atlantic this month after its repairs, reporters found leaking and malfunctioning toilets, many lights not working and dirty living quarters. One of the motors of the arresting gear that slows a landing aircraft and two of the catapults were not working at that time.
But the ship's officers said "Big John", as the 33-year-old carrier is popularly known, would undergo further repairs by on-board crews as it headed toward its six-month deployment. They insisted it was ready for action.
...
Rear Admiral Steve Tomaszeski, commander of the entire Kennedy battle group -- which has 15 ships, 9 flight squadrons and 15,000 personnel -- said he had ordered big problems to be fixed before deployment, but smaller ones had to wait.
"The ship was under-funded in the '90s. So those things that fell in disrepair, the major pieces of equipment, were held together by the ingenuity of sailors and their technical expertise," he told Reuters.

Social welfare programs were more important than readiness.
