(CNSNews.com) - The United States has given more than $117 million in assistance to Afghanistan so far in Fiscal Year 2001, according to the United States Agency for International Development.
The aid to date includes millions of tax dollars for mostly humanitarian relief both in Afghanistan and in support of Afghan refugees in neighboring Pakistan. As of July 9, 2001, the total amount of financial assistance was $117,869,525, according to USAID.
International terrorist Osama bin Laden, the man thought to be responsible for masterminding Tuesday's attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, is thought to be taking refuge in Afghanistan.

This bullshit humanitarian aid has got to stop. The "leaders" just steal it and pocket most of it, giving crumbs to their people. The people need to get their heads out of their asses and see what their benevolent rulers are doing to them.

I thought I had heard it all yesterday when learning that one of Bin Laden's brothers had won a full scholarship to Harvard... I spoke too soon!
While the President and military are scoping out their plan for retaliation might we suggest that one thing we could do immediatley is stop sending US dollars to fund countries that are against us and or harboring criminals. I would think that those policies would be included in the strong verbiage used by both the President and Sec of State when they mentioned they would go after countries that are aiding and or harboring those who assist terrorists

Make you wonder if it really has dried up, along with the funds for the countries that support terrorists. Any bets that there are still funds slated for these countries??
We feed them, rebuild their nation and they spit on us. End all foreign aid now and forever. Not one penny to any other nation for any reason.
Has anyone seen any other nation coming to help us in this WTC disaster? I haven't. Someone, please post for me what other nations have delivered anything more than "feelings".

There's so much money going to countires for "humanatarian reasons" that it will never dry up. I remeber when Russia was getting a billion a week and 70% would wind up directly in the bank accounts of their leaders. We need to stop 90% of the aid we send out.

The benevolent assholes would still pocket 70% or more of that. They would pocket a dollar if that's all they received. These non-humans who claim the title of "Leader" do not even wipe their own asses. They have some stooge who lovingly does it for them.
STOP ALL AID!

There isn't much other countries can do for NYC right now. They have more volunteers than they need. Many countries are showing support and will be able to help in the war against terrorism. Russia for one has already offered to team up as has Great Britain. The outpouring from Europe has been impressive. One of my online German friends said their military is on full readiness. Right now we need intel.

Intel. Yep.
As for the $117m. What can I say? No surprise. It's a Clinton budget. Hitliary probably signed the check herself, with a yellow post-it note stating, "Give Osama my love."

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><HR>THE FAILURE OF ECONOMIC AID
There is abundant evidence that the U.S. foreign aid program does little to sup- port America's global interests. But there is even more evidence that it does even less to help countries develop economically. In fact, the data show that foreign aid often does more harm than good. Consider the following:
Of the 64 countries receiving U.S. foreign aid for more than 35 years, many as long as 50 years, 36 are no better off today than they were before receiving such aid. [Figures based on an analysis of long-term recipients of foreign aid and the per capita GDP in 1965 and 1992 expressed in constant 1987 dollars. Those countries deemed no better off today than they were in 1965 had growth rates in their per capita GDP of 1 percent a year or less during the 27-year period from 1965 to 1992.]
Of these 36 countries, 21 actually are poorer today then they were in 1965 ....

Warlady, you are a very reasonable person.
We rush off to the other side of the world at the first hint of a problem but we do know that when there is a problem here we are on our own. Thank God that Americans are there to do the work. When the time comes we will see who is standing on the fireing line with us.
My suggestion, outside of my frustration, is that we end all foreign aid right now. This thread started out being about foreign aid to Afghanistan. Long past time for that to end.

You'll get no argument from me. We damn sure need to stop financing our enemies. Sheesh.
