Avoiding The "Friend" Trap

"Let's just be friends, okay?"
Those dreaded words from a woman's lips can strike terror into the hearts of even the manliest of men. They are the ultimate in rejection. They hurt like a kick in the crotch. They mean that a woman has absolutely no sexual interest in you, and more likely than not, she doesn't even really want to be your friend.
Some guys seem doomed to keep falling into the "friend" category, while others manage to escape the trap for a while, only to have it strike when they least expect it.
So just why do women label certain men as "friends," and what can you do to avoid such a humiliating rejection in the first place?
