Drudge: Senator calls on Bush to take down attack ad

Quote:
SENATOR CALLS ON BUSH TO TAKE DOWN ATTACK AD
Sat Dec 10 2005 16:41:38 ET

Today, Senator Daniel Inouye, the Ranking Member of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee and a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his service in World War II, released the following statement:

"As a Veteran of World War II, I know what it’s like to fight a war and put your life on the line every day. I also know what it takes to win a war, and I know that politics and an attack machine like the President’s plays no part in it.

"The Republican Party’s latest ad is a shameful and disgusting attempt to distract the American people from the problems in Iraq. It may improve the President’s political fortunes, but the American people and our troops will pay the price. I hope that President Bush realizes how shameful it is to play politics when what we really need is leadership, and that he will direct his Party to take down this ad immediately."

Developing...
This from a senator who has collegues in his own party saying we can't win the war, who have spread lies about their fellow vietnam vets and now seeks to undermine our troops by insinuating they are terrorists, and colleagues who helped nominate for the presidency a draft dodger who protested his own country on foreign soil during time of war. Inouye needs to decide what's more important; party or country. So far Senator Lieberman is the only one who knows what's really important. As far as I am concerned this ad has been a long time coming.

Fine, Senator. First, I am not impressed that your party trotted you out to be the spokesman, playing on your Medal of Honor. That is lacking in the social graces and disgraceful to the Medal, even for a Democrat. Secondly, the DNC can stop the 24/7 criticism of POTUS first. Your party started the attack campaign. The RNC is merely responding in kind. One can fight fire with fire. Apparently you Democrats can dish it out, but you can't take it.

So, Senator Inouye, you know so much about war? Stop opposing it! "IF" we're losing the war as you say, you, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry and some others need to look in the mirror to see why. Politics doomed us in Vietnam and it's happening again.

Senator Inouye, remember the veterans of this war, men who fought honorably as you did, that it would be a huge dis-service to them to win the battles yet lose the war due to politics. Give these men and women what they need to win; the money, supplies and support to do the job, just like you did in WW2.

Senator Daniel Inouye should recall that any Senator during World War II that publicly sided with the Nazis, said that we couldn’t win in Europe and called our soldiers and FDR the real tyrants would have been dragged out of the Capitol building in shackles and imprisoned for 30 years at Leavenworth under the Seditions Act in time of War.

Inouye is just another “useful idiot” of the left and disgraces his service and medal.

Sorry Senator but your party is out of its collective mind. Kerry is starting the Winter Soldier crap again. He was an idiotic coward then and now. Because of Kerry and Kennedy millions of innocent civilians were butchered when we ran from a war we were winning in Vietnam. And by the way you may have earned a MOH but medals are not so hard to come by when you are the officer in charge. Kerry put himself in for several while his commrades watched him run away like a yellow dog more often than not. So stick a sock in it senator and let us win this war.

I don't know exactly the terminology of why a MOH recip shouldn't be playing "The Medal" politically, but I know it's slimy and I don't like it. I don't care if it's a Dem or a Repub doing it.

"On December 9, 2005, CNN covered an interview of a US Special Forces soldier, a member of an elite sniper team. A Reuters reporter trying to milk the interview for all it was worth asked the young soldier in a less than respectful tone, in an effort to make him feel guilty, "What do you feel, if anything, when you shoot an Al Qaeda freedom fighter from such a long distance?" The young soldier shrugged his shoulders and replied, "RECOIL", then turned and walked away."

Innoway, Is typically out of whack on most issue's. I would say that, appeasement, and grovelling before the enemy is not how you win a war. Requiring Israel to give land to the enemy is not how you win a war. Looking to the UN for validation is not how you win a war. Letting Saddam Hussein direct his own trial is not how you treat the enemy. Prosecuting our own soldiers for following orders, etc. etc. etc. We can sight plenty of instances on "How not to run a War" without resorting to Innoway's political rantings.

If anyone is endangering our troops in Iraq, it's the RAT bastards who are giving America's enemies moral support and encouragement.

At the very least, impeach the lot of them and send them all to the Graybar Hotel for extended occupancies.

For anyone wishing to express fond regards to the senator:

The ad is obviously working.

You know, its a crying damn shame that the dems are so unhappy. Crying shame. Maybe we can open up some more of those Post Traumatic Election Syndrom type counseling centers. Maybe call them Democrat-Post-Traumatic-Foot-In-Mouth centers; or DPTFM for short.

DPTFM - there has got to be a punch line in there somewhere.

So why do they keep electing him? Same reason Massholes keep electing Kennedy I gather, for his seniority and not one person will admit to voting for him.

It's amazing! Running an ad that accurately quotes the Democrats is considered an attack ad. If they dont want these views publicly disclosed then perhaps they should consider shutting the Frig up.

They want to be able to spew their anti-amercan garbage and then be told what great patriots they are for doing so.

That is a good ad. I like how it isn't flashy or bringing up any speculation, like a lot of stuff like this does. I hope we can do more of this in the '06 and '08 elections..avoiding the games and just going straight to where it really hurts them...the cold hard facts and the truth. Thats the most harmfull thing to the libs there is and they know it.

"Payback"...is always a bytch especially by those who think they do not deserve it, & in fact who have behaved worse than anyone ever could as the disingenuine democratic party leadership has!

How long did the democrats think THEY could savage the republican party, the military, our soldiers, our country & the president, ..without a response?

And now, ...they (Democratic party) pretend to be offended by getting a good DOSE of their OWN medicine that THEY administered FIRST long ago, & would not stop?

They MADE the bed for others, never suspecting that THEY would find themselves in it.

Oh well......! It could not have happened to a nicer bunch of hypocrites, & liars to be getting negative public attention, & critiscism by their very own methods!

They enjoyed "sodomizing" the whole of the Bush administration for years now, ..lets see how nicely they deal with a little rear entry themselves?
